Snow Day!

Another day in the snow! It really did snow a lot. I took a couple steps today that caught me by surprise as to how deep it is in our yard. All of our tracks from yesterday's afternoon of fun were long gone and buried. We were not out nearly as long today but still had fun. Just look at all the snow on the slide. It was cleared off when we went in yesterday. Katherine did pretty well walking today with the deep snow. She was determined. You may notice from yesterday's photos to today that Katherine is wearing pink snowpants yesterday and purple today. Yesterday I noticed I continued to have to pull down her pants legs. So I switched her to the 3T pants just like her jacket today and it was much better. Believe it or not but she went through 2 sizes of winter coats and pants in just 3 months. She started the winter in a 2T pink coat and a month or more ago I noticed it seemed short so we switched to 3T and now the pants. Thank goodness for big sisters! She went to the doctor last week and is 37 inches tall (above 97% percentile), and 32 lbs 9.5oz (95%).

Up to her knees!

Emma did a good job taking this photo!

Snow Sunday!

I was a bit of a doubter about this snow yesterday. When we came out of Mass at Noon there was not a flake in the air in Green Bay. As much as I wanted to drive south to Sheboygan County to see some out of state relatives and their baby boy I was advised to stay home with the girls. So we did. By 4:00 we all needed something fun to do. I had been feeling bad that we had not played out much in the snow in the previous couple months so out we went. Plus since our sledding adventure a couple weeks ago - we now own a sled which I thought would be fun to pull the girls around and to sled down our own hill in our backyard and our neighbor's backyard. The 3 of us had a blast! Between the hills, the swing set, and our Little Tikes cottage the girls were in heaven. In fact you will see in the last couple photos of Katherine it is darker out - she did not want to go in but just keep swinging. I took lots of photos but you just had to see these next fourteen. :-) Enjoy!

Ahh, she's headed for the trees!

Oops, she did go down the correct way the next time.

Hi! I think the other shutter was frozen shut.

Trying so hard to pull big sister.

Just after a face plant from the sled.

Having so much fun!

Whee!!

Look at me on the big girl swing!

Life is good at 2...most of the time

This morning Katheirne was happy as a 2 year old can be.. she was watching Elmo, sitting on her floor lounger and watching her new train go around and around. But then later when it was time to changer her diaper the last picture is her reaction. She didn't want to leave Elmo even though he had been paused. She recovered. And all is well with her world again.

My baby is 2!

It's official my baby is now 2. All day, everyday for the next 364 days. She is growing up everyday and every hour. Being with her everyday makes me realize what a treat it is. I was in graduate school when Emma was this age so I was not with her everyday as I am with Katherine. Katherine and I have been having fun with swimming lessons and Little Gym classes "jumping" as she calls it. This morning started with some birthday cinnamon rolls for breakfast that Daddy made after coming home from work. A trip to the Y for Mommy to do some yoga. The nice ladies in Kids Korner made her a purple birthday crown! She wore it proudly most of the day. After the Y we went to Little Gym class, ran some errands, had a special McDonald's chicken nugget Happy Meal lunch (believe it or not - the only chicken Katherine will eat is from here), took a nap and then the girls and I headed to Manitowoc to have dinner with Nana and Papa. It was a fun day. Unfortunately, Daddy had to work tonight. Here are some photos from throughout the day of our birthday Monkey. This past Sunday we celebrated with family and friends. You can figure out the theme from the cake. Perfect for our little girl. She brings joy to our lives daily, loves her big sister, is goofy and fun, adores her Mommy, loves her Daddy, and I couldn't imagine a day without her. I just wish she didn't have to get any older. Happy 2nd Birthday my dear Katherine. We love you.

We went to PDQ after gym class - she enjoyed watching all the cars be washed.

McDonald's lunch!

Silly girl

She couldn't stop looking at the cake they brought her at dinner tonight to look at the camera with me. :-) She definitely has my love for cake and cookies. :-)

Oh, its good Mom!

Sweetheart Dance

Emma's school has a sweetheart dance for the girls in grades Preschool-8 with their favorite gentleman - father, grandfather, uncle, etc. This was Emma's first year attending with her favorite of all - her Daddy. She was so excited for this evening. She wore the dress that was worn by my niece, as a flower girl, in our wedding. It is white on top and red on the bottom - perfect for Valentine's. Daddy bought her a pretty wrist corsage of two white sweetheart roses and red ribbon. They had a wonderful time at the dance!

Sledding

Last weekend we were invited to go sledding with some friends. I couldn't wait to take the girls. This would be a first for both of them. Emma had fun. I am not quite sure what Katherine thought. Most of the time she was content to watch everyone else go down. It took a lot to get her to agree to go with either Mommy or Daddy. At one point she decided she wanted to go alone. Oh, did she go. She had picked a blue plastic sled and that sled took her a long ways. So far in fact - Daddy had to jump on a sled to go get her because there was no way she would be walking back on her own. I think she liked it though.

Here we go!

Here she goes!

She's still going - she continued past the building...

Daddy went to retrieve her and Emma came along to help with the sleds

Here they come - there is a smile on her face.
