Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.

Katherine's first taste of trick or treating

Katherine and I went to Emma's school yesterday for the Halloween parade around school that the Kindergarten and preschool classes have the opportunity to do. Katherine loves to go to school to see Emma. She usually plays with a doll in the classroom or sits down at an empty seat and colors like the rest of the students. She especially likes to go by Emma and hold her hand if they are walking somewhere. Someone gave Katherine a sucker, and I don't think she had any idea what it is or what to do with it. She would not let go at first but eventually put it in Emma's bag. I think she will enjoy trick or treating.

From sweet to silly to adorable

Some recent images of Katherine

From pumpkin to Jack-O-Lantern

Here are the photos from carving our pumpkin. Emma had fun helping Daddy with the parts she could do. She scooped, told him what to draw for the face, and supervised the actual carving. And not completely relevant to this post but these photos were taken with my new camera which replaced the one I stupidly lost.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Here are some photos we had taken of Little Bo Peep and her sheep. We won a local costume contest at the photo store.

Costume Birthday Party

Happy 5th Birthday Tanner! On October 17 our friend, Tanner, had a costume party for his 5th birthday. It was the first chance for the girls to wear their costumes. Emma was very excited.

There is a little sheep shopping...

We love to read

Here are some photos of Emma reading a picture book to Katherine, and Katherine reading to her doggy.

Something on the t.v. caught Katherine's attention - a very rare occurence.

Emma wanted some photos with all the pumpkins we picked. Here are a few nice ones of the girls and Daddy.

Picking Pumpkins

On October 10 after we watched Green Bay lose to the Washington Redskins we decided to take advantage of the beautiful summer-like weather and go pick our pumpkins. Emma really enjoys picking a pumpkin because she cannot wait to carve it (that post comes later). Katherine enjoyed the pumpkins as well, although I think she enjoyed riding in the wagon which hauled our pumpkins and running after the little kitten at the pumpkin place a bit more.

How big are we this year?

Katherine was not too sure about this new friend.

Emma come sit with me.

You sit here.

Okay I change mind now you can go.

What a cute little kitten...

Hi kitten!

Leaves are falling, falling, falling...

Beginning of October the leaves began to fall and the raking began. So far I have had to rake the front yard twice and hopefully only once more to go. That may be a record. The backyard has been done once and probably has at least 2 or 3 more times to go. Here are some photos of the girls enjoying the leaf piles.

Okay there are no leaves in this one but I thought it was a cute photo.

20 months and "All Done"

Katherine is 20 months. She just started saying "all done". And she loves to say it! It is quite cute. And it is a new step in putting words together. Her first time putting two words together was last week at church "No Dada". Walk, nine and purple are some of her new words. I am working on teaching her colors. She is also becoming an echo and a mimic. When I start to sweep or vacuum she has to get out her broom, mop, bucket, and vacuum so she can too. She loves to say "oh no" when she think something has gone wrong or something dropped. It is funny because sometimes it is for no reason. She is getting good at puzzles - the peg ones she can do alone. We have taught her well because when she sees Bucky, a "W", Packers, or football she claps and says "go" very loud. Our children are definitely a product of a Wisconsin Badger alum. We took she and Emma to the first Badger game of the season. It was fun. The girls both did quite well. The best photos from that day were posted in September - on our anniversary post. She is a pure energizer bunny. She has enough strength to push doors open now at restaurants and stores. She puts both hands on the door has her legs back and pushes with all her might. She has had 2 sleepovers this month - one with friends of ours and one with grandparents. She did great with both of them - no separation anxiety with this one. She continues to go to swim class with me but does not always enjoy it. She wants to do her own thing in the water not necessarily what they want her to do. She likes dolls, cars, Elmo, animals especially dogs and cats, books, and starting to like to "color" like her big sister. She likes to do whatever Emma is doing. Going to bed is comical for Daddy and I because Katherine loves to talk, sing, yell, cry sometimes and talk some more. I think I had a dream this morning that I went in her room and she was standing at the door waiting which would mean she climbed out of her crib. Hopefully this does not happen anytime soon but our little monkey is quite adventurous and as someone put it the other day she has "no fear".

A rare moment - Katherine sitting still with Daddy

Showing Daddy how the vacuum works...

These were taken after a morning run - she did not wish to take off her hat. Winter hat and spring pajamas - good combination, huh? Mornings are becoming colder.

I was there! Badgers beat Ohio State 31 to 18.

I was at this fantastic game. It was crazy! I never left my seat. We stood more than we sat. It had to be one of the most exciting games I have ever been to at Camp Randall in the 7 seasons we have had season tickets. My hubby was not able to join me because of work, so I brought a friend to her first badger game. She was thrilled! We went on the field after the game. I have a photo of Kirk Herbstreet (I believe). Don't ask me how but we managed to get about 3 people back from him after the game when they were doing their post-game show. It was insane. I will post photos sooner than later, I promise.
