A Running Weekend

This past weekend was the 11th Annual Cellcom Green Bay Marathon - 2.62 mini marathon - and WPS Kids Run. 3 out of 4 of us competed in running events. Ethan ran the full marathon and obtained a personal best. He did awesome! 3:44. He kept an 8:30 pace the entire race - amazing! He has now caught up to my 4 marathons although he has ran 2 of his 4 much faster than me - considering his other 2 we ran together. We had a great time seeing him on the course. Thanks to a wonderful friend who knows the streets in this city inside and out - we saw Ethan a lot - mile 3, 5, 7.5, 10, 14, 17.5, 20.5, 23, and the finish. The girls had fun cheering on Daddy. I ran the 2.62 mini-marathon on Saturday with a record first mile for me in years. I ran just under a 7 minute mile for the first and sub 8 for the second. Emma ran a .62 kids run and had a great time. Daddy ran with her and she tells me she only stopped once or twice. We all had the awesome experience of running through the player tunnel and around the field at Lambeau Field. It was a fun weekend! Next up for myself and Ethan is the Madison half-marathon. He will be running with me so it will be a bit slower and easier on his legs. He seems to be doing pretty well walking around except going down stairs and bending over he says. Here are photos from Emma's run. I think Ethan's run I am going to make a slideshow because there are a lot of good photos of him and the girls cheering him on.

And off she goes...
Smiling all the way to the finish..

A red and tired face. She told me after "Mom I need a shower."
