At the end of November we took the girls on the Polar Express at the Green Bay National Railroad Museum. It was Emma's third time and Katherine's second time. This year Katherine really enjoyed it because of her love of trains, Santa, and the Polar Express story. They do a great job with this event. It starts with a song and dance of "Hot Chocolate" from the movie. Then a narrator reads the story while the photos are projected on a large screen. At the end of the story they call out "All Aboard"...and its time to bundle up and head out to the trains. The train ride takes us to the "North Pole" and goes around a large area including over some water and past some hobos with a fire three times. While on the train the conductors walk around the punch your ticket, hand out chocolate coins, and at the end of the ride each child receives the "first gift of Christmas". Once we arrive at the North Pole then we go inside to see Santa. We all enjoyed this time together at the beginning of the holiday season.
