Duluth, MN

Ethan and I enjoyed a much needed weekend away to Duluth, MN this past weekend. The first exciting part was seeing a black bear cub on Highway 53 outside of Spooner! That was crazy! We went for relaxation and to run in the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on Saturday. We enjoyed seeing the Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Park on Friday before picking up our race packets and enjoying a yummy spaghetti dinner.

Gooseberry Falls

We ran the race Saturday morning. It was a beautiful view of Lake Superior and the breeze off of the lake felt good. It's definitely a great race to run with beautiful scenery and great support from the community. We finished in 2:02.36. Not the personal best I was hoping for but still a good time considering I ran a hot half marathon four weeks earlier in Green Bay. Saturday afternoon we enjoyed some much needed relaxation and then headed back to Duluth for dinner at Grandma's Sports Garden. After some good pizza we enjoyed a nice walk along the Duluth waterfront.
